Dogs are loving, playful, and make great pets but if left alone for too long, your pooch can also develop separation anxiety. Your pets can function independently, but it's not a good idea to leave them home alone frequently.
Separation anxiety to dogs can lead to attention-grabbing or destructive behaviors where they become bored very easily and will tear apart things in your home just to keep themselves entertained.
Try to maintain a consistent schedule. Plan to visit them during the day while you're at work or arrange for them to go to a daycare where they can play. If possible, hire someone trustworthy and reliable to come in during your work or weekend hours when you aren't available. You may have to pay more than usual, but it will be worth it if it means spending time with your pet without having someone else looking after them.
